Yountville was established by George Calvert Yount when he traveled here from North Carolina and built his log block house here in 1837. Here are a few FACTS about him and some photos.
- He was the Valley’s first white settler
- He built the first flour mill called the Star of the Pacific
- He opened the first dairy here in 1837
- He planted the first vineyard here in 1830
- and He is buried in the Yountville Cemetery
