Yountville, Napa Valley, home to the priciest hotel rooms in the state
This may be a list that the Town of Yountville doesn’t want to be number one on. But according to a press release from CheapHotels.org, taken in 30 California destinations June through August 2012, Yountville has the priciest hotel rooms in the state. I don’t know how much stock to put into this but their website did show up #29 on a Google search of “cheap hotel rooms”. One thing for certain, the Town is a true destination with several top rated hotels and spas with about 600 rooms in total.
An overnight stay in Yountville will set visitors back, on average, $327 for the cheapest available double room. This is 28 percent more than the average hotel room will cost in the second-place finisher, Santa Monica. This popular LA area beachfront city comes in at number two with an average accommodation cost of $256 per night. Snagging the number three spot is another beach town in southern Orange County. In the seaside resort of Laguna Beach, travelers will pay at least $197 nightly to stay in a double room.
Here are the top 10. For the entire list of the 30, you need to go to CheapHotels.org website.
- Yountville ($327)
- Santa Monica ($256)
- Laguna Beach ($197)
- Avalon ($187)
- Sonoma ($182)
- Calistoga ($181)

- Pacific Grove ($134)
