Yes, Yountville is at it again. Despite the down economy, Yountville’s restaurants and hotels have experienced a up-tick in visitors thanks in part to the Chamber’s marketing efforts. The Yountville Chamber of Commerce organized in February and March the annual Movable Feast Campaign. Hotel tax rates were up 21 percent in January 2011 and 26 percent in March 2011 compared to a year ago. The Town had overall hotel occupancy rate of 60.4 percent. Not bad given the times.
Some of the more popular restaurants attributed serving additionally meals to the Feast were Bistro Jeanty 326, Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar 167 and Cantinetta Piero 119. Heck, even the artificial skating ring attracked more than 2,000 skaters for the WinterScape campaign. Throw in weekend horse drawn carriage rides and some of the “light weights” such as the French Laundry, Ad Hoc, Redds and Etoile and you have a combination that is hard to beat.
