St Helena, a city of about 5,700 is located in the Napa Valley and is one of the most desirous places to live. In my 30 years of selling real estate here St Helena and Yountville are one-two or visa versa as the place people want to buy.
The city consists of a true Main Street where most of the retail businesses and restaurants are located but there are also several commercial, industrial areas which house many diverse business, many associated with winemaking. Some of my favorite places to eat here, Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch (they raise their own beef), Gillwoods (a locals favorite for breakfast), Terra (pricey but excellent), Gott’s Roadside (best burgers in town but expect a crowd) and Pizzeria Tra Vigne (just what it sounds like).
One of the odd facts which is often expressed by locals, the West Side of Main Street is the place to be. Even though there are many charming homes on the East Side, the West costs about a 10-20% premium when it comes to buying a home here. Just one of those things.
Almost everyone who buys here wants to be within walking distance to downtown and when the right home comes on the market it does not last long and often brings multiple offers. There is a true mix of types of properties within the city limits from charming bungalows to multi-million dollar mansions. And for those wanting a bit of land, there are many vineyard estate just minutes from town. So if you looking to purchase a St Helena home, please contact me and let me put my 30 years experience selling St Helena homes to work for you.
