Napa Porchfest 2012

It’s time for Porchfest 2012, the city of Napa’s community music festival. This is one of Napa Valley’s best local’s events held on the front porches in and around downtown Napa’s historic neighborhoods. Last years event was a resounding success and this year’s 58 bands at 22 venues should be equal to then. The date is Sunday, July 29, from 2 to 5 PM, don’t miss it or be late.
In its second year, founder and owner of Wildcat Vintage Clothing, Thea Witsil should be proud of the very popular happening she has helped create. She along with friends Julian Inman, architect and Napa City Council member, and Louisa Hufstader, editor of Napa Patch, have done something right, something which appeals to locals and visitors alike.

The music is in some of Napa’s, little know to outsiders, most significant local historic districts; Old Town, Napa Abajo/Fuller Park, Calistoga Avenue, St. John’s District, Alta Heights and Spencer’s Addition are just some of their names. A little know fact, Napa has one of the largest groups of historic homes in the State of California.
Just of few of the bands playing: Doc Watson, The Napa Valley Ramblers, Minael Thoasen Band, Disturbing the Peace, Bird Dog and Real Jazz Army. The best place to see all who will gracing us with the music and get a venue map is at the Napa Patch page about Porchfest 2012. See you there, cheers cvc
