The exact purchase price for the resort was not revealed but the group paid more than $1 million per room, said David B. Deniger, managing partner of Olympus, in a news release.
One of Napa Valley’s swankiest lodging places has just sold for over $1 million per room making it one of the highest priced per room hotel sales in the United States. Calistoga Ranch, a fractional real estate ownership resort with 50 guest lodges, is tucked away in a secluded valley on Lommel Road located about three miles south of the City of Calistoga. Calistoga Ranch has some of the highest average room rates, $1,200 per night.
The buyers are Auberge Resorts, vintner Bill Foley and a group of investors including Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners of Chicago. Auberge Resorts owns Auberge du Soleil which has similar room rates and helped develop the resort for its current owners, Olympus Real Estate.
Calistoga Ranch is one of Napa Valley’s premier over night destination set on 157 acres with the Bathhouse spa, where treatments take place in lodges next to a running stream, and the private Lakehouse Restaurant overlooking Lake Lommel.
Originally, these fractional 1/10 ownership shares sold for around $400,000 each. Currently there is one for sales at $385,000 with the annual ownership fees of approximately $13,000.
