Yountville may no longer be able to claim to have the most Michelin stars per capita as it remained with four, one for Bouchon and three for the The French Laundry, both of Thomas Keller fame. Michelin announced it’s 2015 Guide to the San Francisco Bay Area and the Napa Valley came out with an impressive 11 stars and 7 Bib Gourmands, “eateries that offer excellent food at reasonable prices”.
Besides The French Laundry, The Restaurant at Meadowood kept it’s three stars, a rating that designates a restaurant with “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.” Two new additions to the Bib Gourmands rating, Grace’s Table in Napa and The Farmer and the Fox in St. Helena. The other local restaurants retaining their Bib rating: Bistro Jeanty and Redd Wood in Yountville, C Casa and Oenotri in Napa, and Cook in St. Helena.
No matter where you eat in Yountville, reservations are a must. And yes, it is still very difficult to get a reservation at The French Laundry as is my favorite bar sit at Bouchon. cheers and bon apetit.
