I sit here a bit too late at night and wonder what is to become of me, my being, my soul. As I age, I feel a bit more vulnerable to the maladies of growing older. As if the title of the poster in the gym I go to next to the urinal, “Getting old is not for Sissies” doesn’t ring so true in my all too fragile frame.
As I begin to fall upon my sword, my body begins to do what it does. I truly understand what my mom always said to me: Your health is the the key to everything and if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. Her words.
As I age and having not abided enough of my mom’s wisdom, thus I suffer the pangs and their consequences. My simple advice to anyone reading this, learn to listen to your mom, learn to listen to your inner soul. Neither will it ever lie to you and in the end, you may walk upon a better path, allowing you to walk there by yourself. A goal worth trying to achieve, a being worth saving and thus allowing one to give back, truly something to live for.
Thanks to all who read this and I wish you the best of holidays, cheers cvc
