I met a friend for lunch yesterday and in the process of deciding where, he suggested Napa Style. Since they where having a soft opening for mainly locals all week in advance of the grand opening Sunday, July 13th, I agreed a good choice. We walked over and there on the patio were the owners of the V Marketplace (old Vintage 1870), who are my good friends, Michael himself, and a group having a birthday party for David Shipman, another good friend and general manager at Villagio Inn & Spa and Vintage Inn. They asked us to join them, and it was very hard to resist given how great the food looked, but my friend and I had some business to discuss, so we left and took a tour of Napa Style.
I will say, the place is impressive with a great deli style kitchen, see menu below, to a selection of fresh olive oils, to some of the best kitchenware I have seen. As we walked back towards my car, we came across two different friends who while saying hello, raved about how good and reasonable the food was at Napa Style. Hope you get a chance to stop by on Sunday and meet Michael during the cooking demo, or the book signing. It should be great and I look forward to eating there many times in the future. While meeting Michael, he suggested he could do custom food, wine & gift packages for my clients. After seeing how perfect everything would be, I am going to take him up on this. So, if you every become one of my clients, guess what you may be receiving as a thank you/ house warming gift.
One note: I did peak at the space which will be Michael’s new restaurant, Bottega, and it looked to be at least 6 months from completion. It is a great space and given the food at Napa Style, I can’t wait for it to open. Till then, CIAO!!!
