Want to dine at the French Laundry in Yountville and forego the $325 tab, that’s per person, for the chef’s nine course tasting menu. Soon all you will need to do is buy one of the California Lottery’s new $10 Emerald 10 scratchers program, to debut Jan. 5., This special prize is for dinner for two coupled with a two-night stay at the Napa Valley Lodge.
To qualify, you must submit a photo of yourself with the scratcher card and compose a 500-character (or shorter) “story” telling who you will take to dinner with you, and why. Lottery officials are still finessing the rules. From lottery spokesman Russ Lopez, “We are looking for a really good story,” “Whether it is funny, sad or touching, it really doesn’t matter — it’s about the story.”
The one caveat here, the French Laundry is closing December 24th for a major renovation which could take up to six months. So any winners will have to contain their palates during this remodel. Till then bon appetit and cheers cvc
